Introduced in 1979, the Mk5 Ford Cortina represented the final chapter in one of Britain’s most successful car ranges. Building on the proven formula of its predecessors, the Mk5 featured cleaner styling, improved refinement and a choice of economical four-cylinder or smooth V6 engines. It quickly became a favourite with families, businesses and company car drivers, remaining one of the UK’s best-selling cars until production ended in 1982, when it made way for the Ford Sierra.
